ABOUT
Fukiko was born in NY and raised in Japan, under the influence of her mother who is also a dance artist, she has started dancing in early age
She received the Cultural Affairs Fellowship from the Japanese government to study at Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy and London Contemporary Dance School.
She worked with Henri Oguike Dance Company, Company Wayne McGregor and became independent dance artist.
Fukiko has been featured in dance films, commercials, and collaborated with artists including Olafur Eliasson, Bertil Nilsson, Nick Knight, Ruth Hogben, Gareth Pugh, Dustin O’halloran, Yaron Abulafia.
She performed Yoko Ono’s ‘Cut Piece,’ was featured in Thom Yorke’s music video 'Ingenue', choreographed music videos 'Eternal Something' by Daniel Brandt and 'Forevermore' by Hikaru Utada.
In 2018 she choreographed and toured Japan with Hikaru for her 20th anniversary concert series, performing for an estimated 140,000 people.
2020, Fukiko choreographed for Givenchy for London Fashion Week and created a new piece ‘A Mirror of Sarasvati’as part of SHIVER Summer 2020, toured in Yokohama, Nagano, and Kyoto, Japan.
She based in London and Tokyo.
